Strength

I’ve started exercising during quarantine.  Specifically, I’ve been focused on strength training.  Like most, I’ve gone through fitness phases before.  I’d stay really focused for a week or so, then fall off track when impatience set in.  This time, however, I told myself I have no excuse.  I’m home anyway, so I should use this time to my advantage.  To my pleasant surprise, a friend noticed my results and asked how I’ve changed so much in such a short time.

“You have to move your body in ways that are unnatural and uncomfortable.  That’s what forces your body to adapt and get stronger,” I told him.  When our muscles experience trauma, they respond by rebuilding a stronger version of themselves – much like we do as a result of our current situation.  Every day, we are forced to live in ways that are unnatural and uncomfortable.  Like our muscles, we will respond by becoming stronger!
