Reflecting on Reopening
The first quarter of 2020 brought life as we knew it to a screeching halt. Quarantine stole one of our most prized possessions: our options. We were accustomed to beginning each busy day with a long list of things we needed accomplish, places we needed to go, people we needed to see, and a tight schedule we needed to follow. The focus was on next – the next option, the next choice that needed to be made about the next thing to do or place to go or person to see. Suddenly, there was nothing to do, nowhere to go, no one we could see. Staying home became our only option.
Here we are, approaching the other side of a seemingly never ending quarantine. Our world is slowly reopening, our freedom of choice is returning, but do we need to revert back to our old, frantic, busy ways?
We’ve become more familiar with our time than we’ve ever been – so what is worth spending it on? Who is worth spending it with? What should you let go, and what should you make room for? As we regain our options, reflect on what you genuinely missed when you had no options.
