Who Told You That?

“I’m not experienced enough to apply for that job.”
“I’m too old to take a risk like that.”
“I’m too shy to reach out to that person.”
“I can’t pull that outfit off.”
“I’m not good enough to pursue that hobby.”

Sound familiar?  We often say that we are too much or too little of something.  Maybe it’s a defense mechanism to keep us the same, to keep us from becoming who we are truly capable of.  But where is the truth in those statements?  Who told you that?

“I’m not experienced enough to apply for that job.” Who told you that?
“I’m too old to take a risk like that.”  Who told you that?
“I’m too shy to reach out to that person.”  Who told you that?
“I can’t pull that outfit off.”  Who told you that?
“I’m not good enough to pursue that hobby.”  Who told you that?

When you realize that the limitations you put on yourself are distortions of reality, you become unstoppable.
