Trusting
Trust the timing of your life, what will be will be, it’ll all work out in the end – phrases like these are meant to bring solace to uneasy minds; however, if you’re as Type A as I am, these platitudes suggest an unwelcome sense of complacency. I’m caught in a constant catch-22 of “if it’s meant to be, it will be” and “if you want it, work for it.”
Blindly trusting that “time will tell” is near impossible for me (like I said, Type A). Regardless of how uncomfortable it makes me, though, I need to accept that I won’t always have all the answers or know how everything will work out in the end. I need to relinquish control. I need to trust.
I can’t trust that things will simply work themselves out, but I can trust myself. I can trust that I will work hard now in preparation for the future. I may not be able to control exactly what the future brings, but I can do my best to plant the seeds I hope to see grow – a combination of “if it’s meant to be, it will be” and “if you want it, work for it.”
