As kids, our parents put us down for a nap every day. Without scheduled rest, we’d turn into monsters. We didn’t always want the nap, but we needed the rest.
With age comes less parental intervention, and those daily naps turn into early bedtimes. As independence increases, our amount of daily rest decreases.
When’s the last time you scheduled rest for yourself? Maybe you think you don’t need the rest, or maybe you don’t think you deserve it.
Believe it or not, you can get burnt out even from things you like doing. You can have the best job in the world and the most rewarding hobbies, but you will still get tired. You are still allowed to feel tired.
When you get that burnt out feeling, put yourself down for a nap. Whatever that means for you.
