Happy New Year!

It wouldn’t be New Year’s without a message from me about resolutions!  When it comes to resolutions, there tends to be two camps.  Some think resolutions are corny and argue that goals should be set all year.  Others think a new year is a natural time to make a change.  We’re big on goals around here, and regardless of when you’d like to set them, you can always benefit from pushing yourself to the next level.

That said, pushing yourself to the next level can seem complicated and intimating, potentially deterring people from setting annual goals at all.  Instead of allowing overwhelm take over, remember that sometimes the best way to move forward is to get back to basics.

You don’t need to wake up at 4 AM every day and work tirelessly to be a perfect version of yourself.  I’d argue you don’t need to do anything new at all.  Get back to basics by doing more of what you’re good at.  Sleep more.  Go places you enjoy, or stay home more if it makes you feel good.  Consume media that energizes you.  Eat the foods you like.  Spend time with people who fill your cup.  Throw yourself into the hobbies you love.  Naturally, you’ll improve in whatever area you dedicate your energy to.

Goals are easier to accomplish when they’re bite sized and inviting.  What’s your resolution for 2023?
