Doing it for You

I get dressed for work every morning. I work from home, so I don’t physically see my colleagues on most days.  I no longer have to wake up and get ready for the day the way I used to.

Working from home has taught me a lot.  It’s been a journey, but I think I’ve gotten the hang of it.  “Look sharp, feel sharp” is usually what I tell myself to stay motivated.

I have had days that feel like a waste of an outfit.  It makes me wonder, who am I dressing up for?

During much of 2020 and 2021, the external was taken away from us.  Instead of acting with the motivation to please others, we were allowed an opportunity to focus on ourselves.  What makes us feel the best?

You are responsible for your own happiness.  Whatever that looks like for you – whether it’s lighting a candle that no one else will smell, cleaning your space for only you to enjoy, or exercising because it feels good – do it for you.
