A Recipe for You

It’s on every Instagram feed and apparently in every kitchen.  I’m not sure what the hype is all about, but I have nothing against a warm, delicious baked good!  So, here is my favorite banana bread recipe.  May it fill your family’s bellies and leave your home smelling sweet!

Here’s what you’ll need:

– 4 ripe bananas
– 1 egg
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla
– 1/3 cup of melted butter
– 1 teaspoon of salt
– 1/2 cup of brown sugar
– 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
– 1 1/2 cups of flour

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Mash your bananas, and add your sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla to the same bowl.  In a separate bowl, whisk your remaining dry ingredients together.  Add your dry mixture into the wet mixture, and stir until combined (I think the secret here is less mixing.  Overmixing can remove too much air, making your bread dense.)  If you’d like to spice your bread up even more, add a cup of chocolate chips or your favorite nuts.  Bake in a loaf pan for about 50 minutes, and enjoy!
